Prior to joining Inter-American Coal in 2004, Mr. Carneal served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Owens & Minor Inc. Mr. Carneal joined Owens & Minor in 1988 and was responsible for creating the company’s first in-house legal department. Before joining Owens & Minor, Mr. Carneal was city attorney for the city of Richmond, Virginia, from 1985 to 1988. Prior to that, he was in private practice for two decades with the Richmond-based law firm Cabell, Moncure & Carneal.
